Monument commenced business in 1995, with the processing and trading of agricultural commodities.
In 2001, Monument ventured into the oil and gas sector, as a pioneer investor in the first indigenous E&P company (Niger Delta Petroleum Development Company) as well as the first gas distribution company (GasLink) in Nigeria. Monument also successfully participated in Marginal Field Bid rounds in both 2004 and 2020.
Between 2001 and 2002, the company signed distribution agreements with Siemens, MTN, Econet Wireless (now Airtel), and NITEL. In subsequent years, agreements were also signed with Globacom, Etisalat, Starcomms and Multilinks for distribution of telecommunication products and services.
In 2003, the company secured a 3.5 Ghz license to provide mobile CDMA voice and data services in three states.
Monument diversified into the real estate sector, with the development of residential and commercial projects in Abuja, Kano and Lagos in 2004. In 2012, Monument established a Joint Venture partnership with a boutique Private Equity firm to explore affordable housing.
In 2019, Monument ventured into the FinTech space with the establishment of a subsidiary to provide Agency banking services in Nigeria.
Cocoon Homes is the groups affordable housing development company. Cocoon Homes was incorporated in 2013, as a Joint Venture with PE firm, Silk Invest Ltd.
Cocoon’s Pilot project, Cocoon Atlantic Estate is a residential development planned over 5-hectares of land in Lekki – Lagos State. Cocoon Atlantic has 383 contemporary homes consisting of a combination of 2 & 3-bedroom apartments and 3-bedroom terrace homes, with 2,710 sqm of Commercial Space and 6,980sqm of Green Areas.
Airtime Networks (ATN) is presently the largest distributor by volume for the Nigerian Mobile Operators in Northern Nigeria. The company is a distributor to the following operators: MTN, Etisalat, Airtel and Globacom.
Over the last twenty years, ATN has received various awards from the Telecom Operators. It has eleven distribution outlets and a chain of over seventy wholesale distributors and five hundred retailers. ATN is currently introducing its electronic airtime recharge services throughout Nigeria via its proprietary Airtime application.
Our directors have combined experience of over 35 years in the Energy sector with international experience that cuts across the upstream, oil and gas services and power sectors.
The company has participated in the Nigerian marginal field bids and continues to participate directly in this sector through its subsidiaries and indirectly via investments. In order to contribute to Nigeria’s ever increasing and unmet energy needs, Monument is consistently evaluating new possibilities including technology and renewables.
Founded in 2019 with the purpose of granting both the unbanked and underbanked equal opportunities to access financial services, Wayya is committed to connecting everyone to the world through agent banking.
As an offshoot of Airtime Networks Limited, a Kano-based telecommunications product distribution company with close to two decades of operating experience, our major focus is on customers who live in the rural areas of Northern Nigeria. We want to serve as a conduit through which they enjoy seamless access to financial services.
Monument established The Lighthouse Humanitarian Foundation (www.lhf.org.ng) in 2013 with the key objective of poverty alleviation and improving the lives of children (especially orphans), women and the elderly.
Their Mission: to create grassroots sustainable projects that will increase access to quality health, education, water and food to those in need.
Children are our future, therefore we strive to educate them, so they become intellectually and financially self sufficient, making them strong leaders and agents of social change. Our emphasis is on the underprivileged children from poor communities.
